Master Cheesemaker
Location: West Sussex
DAAAG Farming LLP (The Naked Farm) in West Sussex is seeking an experienced Master Cheesemaker to lead the establishment and operation of a new on-farm creamery.
The estate has recently been acquired and is currently being developed into a fully operational farm focused on high-quality, sustainable food production. Planning permission has already been granted for a state-of-the-art creamery, which will produce cheese using milk from livestock raised and milked on the farm. The milking parlour and associated infrastructure are currently under development. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled cheesemaker to play a pivotal role in building a new artisan cheese operation from the ground up, shaping both the production process and the future direction of the creamery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, commissioning and operation of the new creamery
Develop and oversee cheese production processes using milk from the estate’s livestock. Cow, Buffalo, Goat and Sheep milk.
Establish recipes, production schedules and maturation processes Implement quality control, food safety and compliance procedures
Manage the day-to-day running of the creamery, including staff training as the team grows
Work closely with the estate team to ensure high standards
Contribute to product development, branding and market positioning
Candidate Profile
Proven experience as a senior or master cheesemaker
Strong knowledge of artisan cheese production and maturation techniques
Experience setting up or developing cheese production facilities would be highly desirable Knowledge of UK dairy regulations, food safety and compliance
Passion for high-quality, farm-based cheese production
Ability to work collaboratively within a developing farm and food production business
