About Us

Founded in 1989, the Specialist Cheesemakers Association (SCA) is the voice of the UK’s artisan and speciality cheese sector. With the patronage of His Majesty King Charles III, we bring together cheesemakers, retailers, affineurs, and industry partners who are committed to producing safe, high-quality and distinctive cheeses.

Our vision is a world-leading UK artisan and speciality cheese sector, supported by a diverse community of sustainable and profitable businesses. We promote excellence in cheesemaking by sharing technical knowledge, championing best practice in food safety, representing members’ interests to government, and creating opportunities for networking and collaboration.

Guided by our values of excellence, respect, integrity and mutual support, we work to strengthen and grow the specialist cheese community for the benefit of members, consumers and the wider industry.
