The SCA is pleased to announce a day-long practical workshop on Tuesday 8 September 2026 focused on understanding and managing the microbiological risks inherent in different cheese production systems. The event will take place at Bradbury’s Cheese in Buxton, Derbyshire.
The day will revisit the fundamentals of microbiological control in cheesemaking, including what pasteurisation can and cannot achieve, where key controls sit in different styles of cheese production, and how hazards can emerge in practice. We are also planning to include several interactive case studies and short presentations from cheesemakers sharing real-world experiences of managing microbiological challenges in their businesses.
